Negative Side Effects of Condoms

The purpose is twofold: use condoms to prevent pregnancy and reduce the likelihood that sexually transmitted diseases will be given to the couple. Condom case (protection barrier) imposed on the male penis during sexual intercourse and can be made from latex, plastic or natural leather. The condom has many benefits-they are easily accessible at any drug store or pharmacy, cheap and safe, comfortable and easy to use. There are some negative side effect of condoms.

The risk of pregnancy

With all types of birth control, there is always the risk of unplanned pregnancy. Condoms are very effective in preventing conception. However, Planned Parenthood said that two out of every 100 women who used condoms from his pregnant even when they are used properly. Among those who did not use condoms correctly, 15 out of every 100 pregnant women. Old condoms can become more brittle and more likely to break. Similarly, oil-based products, such as cooking oil and petroleum jelly, weaken condoms and can cause rupture.

Latex Allergies

Many condoms are made from latex rubber, which comes from the liquid in the rubber tree. The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma Immunology & noted that some people have an allergic reaction to proteins in rubber. Symptoms and presentation may vary in severity, ranging from sneezing, runny nose, hives, itching or reddening signs that worse and symptoms, such as wheezing, swelling, dizziness, and lightweight. In certain cases, latex allergy can prompt anaphylaxis, a life-threatening condition. According to Planned Parenthood, only one or two people out of every 100 have an allergy to LaTeX. The AAAAI notes that those who have a latex allergy should be using synthetic rubber condoms as a second choice.

Not Effective Against All PMS

Planned Parenthood noted that condoms are proven to be very effective against HIV and reduce the risk of other diseases, such as syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and HPV. However, they are not able to provide protection against sexually transmitted diseases that can affect the outer layer of the skin, such as infections and mange moluskum kontagiosum. Social Health Association of America noted that although condoms can reduce the risk of genital herpes, they do not protect any part of the skin where the herpes virus asymptomatically shed and can be transmitted to sexual partners of the infected. In addition, not all condoms are created equal: natural skin condoms (Sheepskin) is an effective birth control measures but porous enough to allow the other to HIV and STDS are transmitted to a sexual partner.

Partner Resistance

Perhaps the most famous negative side effects of condoms is a sexual partner's resistance to using them. Some men claim they suffered loss in sensation while using condoms, find they are not romantic or offense are required to wear them. Planned Parenthood noted that many men can overcome their resistance to using condoms and suggest trying different styles and sizes to find the most comfortable brand for both partners
